This is the consolidated legal, medical, and VA-related disclaimer for Zero Dark Claims LLC and the Zero Dark Claims software (the “Service”).

It is published in good faith to make the boundaries of the Service unmistakably clear. It is not a substitute for individually negotiated terms and does not constitute legal advice to you. We expect to revise this page after attorney review.
The single sentence that governs everything. Zero Dark Claims LLC is a software company. It is not a VA-accredited claims agent, attorney, or Veterans Service Organization, does not represent Veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs, and does not accept fees for the preparation, presentation, or prosecution of any claim before the VA. The software is a self-help drafting tool for individual Veterans.

1. Software, not representation

Every part of the Service — the VA Letter Builder, the C-File Organizer, the VA Assistant knowledge base, and any future tool — is software. You operate it. It structures your inputs, generates drafts in your own first-person voice, and presents general educational information. It does not step into the role of your representative.

Under 38 C.F.R. § 14.629 and related VA regulations, only VA-accredited attorneys, VA-accredited claims agents, and recognized Veterans Service Organizations may “prepare, present, and prosecute claims for veterans' benefits” on behalf of a claimant for compensation. Zero Dark Claims LLC does not do that. Zero Dark Claims LLC is not accredited under 38 C.F.R. § 14.629, does not seek accreditation, and does not act as your representative.

2. No legal, medical, or financial advice

Nothing in the Service is legal advice. Nothing in the Service is medical advice. Nothing in the Service is financial or tax advice. Content within the Service — including form references, presumptive-condition summaries, appeals-lane descriptions, education-benefit summaries, and any other educational text — is general information only.

For advice about your specific claim, situation, or condition, consult a VA-accredited VSO, claims agent, or attorney; a licensed physician or mental health professional; or a licensed financial or tax professional, as appropriate. The Service is not a substitute for any of these.

3. No fees for claim preparation, presentation, or prosecution

Zero Dark Claims LLC does not accept fees for the preparation, presentation, or prosecution of any claim before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Subscription fees for the Service are software-license fees for access to the tools only.

Subscription fees are never a percentage of a Veteran's benefits, back pay, or rating. Zero Dark Claims LLC has never offered, and will not offer, a contingency arrangement tied to a claim outcome.

4. No guarantees, no predictions

No software or person can guarantee that a VA claim will be granted, that a particular rating will be assigned, or that any benefit will result. The Service does not predict claim outcomes and does not evaluate the merits of any specific claim. Any success stories or testimonials on the site reflect individual experiences and are not a promise of similar results.

5. The C-File Organizer is not a claim evaluator

The C-File Organizer is a self-help checklist. It reflects the information you enter back to you as a structured summary, together with general educational descriptions of common VA filing pathways. It does not evaluate your claim, does not rank or prioritize pathways as strategic recommendations, and does not tell you what to file. Whether any pathway fits your situation is a determination for you and your VA-accredited representative.

6. The VA Assistant is general information

The VA Assistant answers general questions about VA benefits, programs, forms, and resources. It is not specific to your claim. It should not be relied on for decisions about your own filing. Consult a VA-accredited VSO, claims agent, or attorney for guidance specific to your situation, and consult your own medical provider for anything touching your health.

7. Not affiliated with government

Zero Dark Claims LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, San Diego County, the State of California, or any other federal, state, or local government agency. References to government forms, offices, or programs are for informational purposes; official information about any government program is available at the applicable government website.

8. Not affiliated with any VSO

Zero Dark Claims LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), The American Legion, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), or any other Veterans Service Organization. References to VSOs on the site are for informational purposes only.

9. Third-party information

Third-party names, forms, links, and descriptions appear throughout the Service (for example, references to VA forms, VA.gov pages, NPRC, county Offices of Military and Veterans Affairs, 211 lines, and VSO resources). Zero Dark Claims does not control third-party sites and is not responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy. Verify details directly with the third party.

10. Accuracy and timeliness

VA policy, forms, presumptive-condition lists, appeals procedures, and rating schedules change over time. The Service uses its best effort to reflect current information but does not guarantee that any specific reference is up to date. Always verify against current VA guidance before acting.

11. Emergencies and crisis situations

12. Testimonials

Any testimonial-style quotes on the site are illustrative examples that reflect the kinds of feedback the tool has received from early Veteran users. Identifying details are omitted. Testimonials are not a promise or prediction of any outcome for any other user.

13. Advertising and endorsements

Zero Dark Claims LLC does not accept paid endorsements from law firms, claims consultancies, or unaccredited “claim shark” operators. Zero Dark Claims LLC does not refer Veterans to non-accredited fee-charging preparers.

14. Changes to this Disclaimer

We may update this Disclaimer from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
